Entertaining for both home and school, eVac-U8! is chock-a-block
with original activities developed to further the Australian curriculum
objectives of working mathematically: problem solving, measurement, chance
and data, number and space. You arrive late one night for a sleepover at
Windy Towers, the residence of your great-aunt Dimensia. She sends you to bed
with a two-headed knitted toy, Elbie-Arbie. Do you sleep? No way! Instead, you
explore the roof garden and discover an intriguing machine called eVac-U8.
Despite warnings, you can't help pushing its red blinking nose, eVac-U8 then sneezes
and explodes, and you land in a laundry basket in the basement - the machine has
split into 20 small pieces scattered around Windy Towers and you have shrunk to
the size of your knitted toy Elbie-Arbie, who can now talk. Your task is to
collect all the missing pieces and reassemble eVac-U8 so you can return to your
normal size. To do this, you must search all levels of the building and complete
a mathematical puzzle, game or problem to collect each piece.
